1. Introduction

Meetle ("we," "us," or "our") operates a curated weekly matchmaking service for Korean singles in the Greater Seattle area (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Service. This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, including the Washington My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373) and the Washington Consumer Protection Act (RCW 19.86), as applicable.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, password.
  • Profile information: age, gender, photos, occupation, education, location (city/neighborhood), dating intentions, preferred age range, lifestyle preferences, and other information you choose to provide.
  • Sensitive information: information you voluntarily share that may reveal religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. We process this only with your consent and solely for matchmaking.
  • Usage data: device identifiers, IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and interactions with the Service.
  • Communications: messages you exchange through the Service and correspondence with our support team.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and verify your eligibility.
  • To curate and deliver one weekly match based on your preferences and profile.
  • To moderate the community, including reviewing profiles and investigating reports.
  • To communicate with you about matches, account activity, and service updates.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Sharing of Information

We share limited profile information (name, age, photo, bio) with the single match you receive each week. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information to (a) service providers who process data on our behalf under written contracts, (b) law enforcement or government authorities when required by applicable Washington or federal law, and (c) parties involved in a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition, subject to confidentiality.

5. Your Rights Under Washington Law

Subject to applicable Washington law, you have the right to:

  • Access and obtain a copy of personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Withdraw consent to processing of consumer health or other sensitive information at any time.
  • Appeal a denial of any of the above requests.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Upon account deletion, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

9. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy and any dispute arising out of or relating to it are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Exclusive venue and jurisdiction shall lie in the state and federal courts located in King County, Washington.

10. Consumer Health Data (Washington MHMDA)

Certain profile information (dating intent, relationship plans, lifestyle, religious dietary practices, sexual orientation if voluntarily disclosed) may qualify as "consumer health data" under the Washington My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373). We collect such categories only with your consent, use them solely for matching, do not sell or share them for cross-context behavioral advertising, and honor access, deletion, consent-withdrawal, and appeal requests sent to privacy@kconnectseattle.com within 45 days.

11. No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information or consumer health data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months and have no plans to do so.

12. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a security incident involving unauthorized acquisition of unencrypted personal information, we will notify affected members in accordance with Washington RCW 19.255 (within 45 days where required) and applicable federal law.

13. Residents of Other U.S. States

If you reside in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, or another U.S. state with a consumer privacy law, you may have additional rights similar to those above. Contact us at privacy@kconnectseattle.com to exercise them. We do not knowingly sell personal information or process it for targeted advertising.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Service and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated by email.
