How to Request Deletion

Sign in and submit the request from the Account Deletion page. You can also email privacy@kconnectseattle.com with "Account Deletion Request" in the subject and your registered email in the body.

1. Data That Is Deleted

Once the grace period ends, the following is permanently removed:

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, password
  • Profile information: photos, age, gender, occupation, education, location, lifestyle preferences, etc.
  • Matching history, swipes, and preference settings
  • Messages and chat history
  • Personally identifiable usage logs

2. Data That Is Retained (Safety & Legal Obligations)

The following is retained for safety or legal reasons:

  • Safety/abuse reports: Identifying information about the reporter and reported user is removed immediately; the report's category, content, and outcome are kept in anonymized form for up to 3 years for community safety monitoring.
  • Transaction records: Payment and refund records (7 years per Washington State and federal tax law).
  • Dispute/legal records: Records related to litigation, arbitration, or regulatory requests (3 years after case closure).

All retained data is anonymized so it cannot identify you, or stored in a securely isolated system.

3. Processing Timeline

After your request is received, there is a 7-day grace period. After that, your account and all personal data are automatically and permanently deleted. You can cancel the request yourself at any time during the grace period. Data subject to legal retention obligations is held only for the periods listed above and then automatically destroyed.

4. Process Steps

  1. Submit the request while signed in on the Account Deletion page
  2. Confirmation email is sent immediately
  3. 7-day grace period — you can cancel the request yourself at any time
  4. Account, profile, photos, matches, and messages are automatically and permanently deleted
  5. Completion confirmation email is sent

5. Important Notes

  • Account deletion is irreversible.
  • Your username/email may be restricted from reuse for a certain period after deletion.
  • Users who signed up with Google/Apple social login may need to disconnect the integration separately.
